Wake me up Bagel 2 go
Today I decided to make my way to Bondi and take a stroll at Bondi Markets and check out the arts and crafts. I got there a tad too early and the stalls weren’t ready yet so I decided to walk down Campbell parade to find something to eat.
Bagel 2 Go in Bondi sits pretty high on my ‘to-eat’ list because their bagels keep popping up on my Instagram feed. With my breakfast destination sorted, I bee lined straight towards their shop on Roscoe St and walked straight in.
The first thing I saw was a display fridge with a large selection of cream cheeses and an impressive selection of bagels next to it.
I had no idea what I was going to get, I made a quick scan of the menu and picked the first one on the list. The Wakey Wakey bagel sandwich, it has bacon, egg, swiss cheese and baby spinach. I chose to whack it all on a whole meal bagel with smoky BBQ cream cheese for an extra $1. The staff were very helpful and all had smiles on their faces, extra kudos for customer experience.
If there was ever a downside of my visit here, it would be the limited seating. Now, I’m not exactly complaining here as I was in Bondi, I could’ve easily found a place to sit down and have my breakfast with excellent views. I’m just cautious of busier days because I personally don’t really like walking around trying to find a place to eat. I’d prefer to order, immediately sit down and enjoy my food.
Personal seating preferences aside, the staff quickly prepared my order, I took it outside the store and sat down at one of the tables, took a few pics and took my first bite.
Oh dear lord, the Wakey Wakey really woke me up! The toasted bagel and cream cheese combination has always been a classic, but geez, they weren’t shy with the cream cheese. The stuff was oozing out with every bite. Also, don’t forget the bacon and egg combo, big strips of bacon will make any carnivore happy. The Wakey Wakey is definitely a combo made out of c..c..c..c..combos!
