Mr G in the CBD
Another day, another burger. Burgers remain an important part of my daily diet and I have a feeling it will remain this way for quite some time.
I’ve never tried Mister Gee’s before, so when a friend told me they were coming into the city for lunch, I HAD to go try their burgers.
Due to their popularity, I was worried that I might not get my chance if I got there too late. We rocked up at 200 George St at 11am but they weren’t open yet and there wasn’t a lot of people waiting, perfect. We joined the line at about number 15 and eagerly waited for twenty minutes when the doors opened and the place came alive.
Their burger for this week ‘King of the fall’ has a beef patty, American Cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickles.
I was very impressed. Like any good burger, the patty was well cooked and had presence within the burger. The lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles were fresh and tasty. We didn’t know what the sauce was, it did remind me of Big Mac sauce and it was very nice. My burger had a lot of sauce on it and it got messy, but I didn’t mind one bit!
The truffle fries were amazing. I don’t really know how to describe the fries, let’s just say I should’ve gotten more.
The burger was not fancy by any standard. The ingredients and construction was simple and made me feel like I could make one at home but something tells me it just won’t be the same. Kudos to Mister Gee’s for making something that looks so simple but tastes amazing.
Just not sure when they will be back in the city again, but rest assured when they do. I’ll be there.
