Basement Lot 1, 209 Clarence St, Sydney NSW 2000
We decided check out Sydney’s ‘hidden’ bar scene and were surprised to find a few that were right under our noses, well done for maintaining the ‘hidden’ theme guys!
The Lobo Plantation was the first one we checked out, located on Clarence St between Market St and King St. The usual theme with these bars is that you wouldn’t know there was a bar if you were just casually walking by, so you had to know it was there in the first place or made it a mission to find it.
The moment you arrive you are greeted with wooden double doors and a stairway leading you down to the bar. The atmosphere was low light but not gloomy, relaxing music playing the background and the staff were accommodating the moment you walk in.
It was a Tuesday, so the place was fairly empty. The bar has an impressive collection of rums and drinks menu. We ordered our drinks and sat down at one of the tables, the bar staff gave us a bowl of complimentary banana chips to snack on while we enjoyed our drinks and had a nice quiet chat.
