389 Pitt St, Sydney NSW 2000
We wandered into World Square on 2 November 2015 and found ourselves in front of The Cidery Bar & Kitchen. The official address for the bar is 389 Pitt St, as it is part of the Rydges Hotel. The Cidery is up the pink and purple neon escalators, you can’t really miss it.
The interior has a modern hotel’ish feel to it and the bar has a wide selection of beers on tap. The majority of the beers were locally brewed in Sydney, as well as a few mainstream ones.
We got ourselves a couple of schooners of Lovedale Larger, which we later found out had won an Australian International Beer Award 2014. We’re not sure how busy they get on Thursdays, Fridays or weekends, but we found the venue to be roomy and comfortable to sit down, enjoy a beer and have a chat with friends. The music selection was great too, but please don’t skip Billy Joel again!
The happy hour at The Cidery Bar & Kitchen is $5 schooners of Sydney Brewery beers or Tooheys New, Monday to Friday, 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
